Obituary

Graveside services for James L. Rogers, 60, were at 11 a.m. today in Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Ron Huckeby officiating. Arrangements were with Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Rogers died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at Covenant Hospital Plainview. He was born Nov. 29, 1948, in Amarillo to James F. and Anna Lee Rogers. He was a lifelong Plainview resident and graduated from Plainview High School. He attended Wayland Baptist University. He served in United States Army during the Vietnam era and taught English to the Vietnamese during his tour of duty. He worked for Cargill as a mill worker for nine years. Survivors include his niece and her husband, Heather Dines and Dustin Pettke of Dallas; a nephew, Cody Critchfield of Cisco; an aunt, Dorothy Pirtle of Farmington, Mo.; and his roommate and longtime friend, Robert Carrion. His parents and a sister, Frankie Critchfield, are deceased.
