Funeral services for James F. "Jimmy" Rogers, 90, of Plainview, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, in Lemons Memorial Chapel with his son, James L. Rogers, officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral home. Mr. Rogers passed away on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, in Prairie House Living Center. Jimmy was born on Jan. 13, 1914, in Watonga, Okla. Mr. Rogers served in the U.S. Army in World War II from 1942-45 in South Africa, Italy, France and Germany. He married Anna Lee "Pat" Smith on his birthday in 1946. They moved to Plainview in 1956. Mrs. Rogers died in 1989. Mr. Rogers worked at Plainsmen Elevator for 28 years before retiring in 1989. Surviving are one son, James, of the home; one granddaughter, Heather Pettke, of Little Elm, Texas; and one grandson, Cody Critchfield of the U.S.M.C., stationed in Iraq. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Frankie Critchfield; seven sisters; and three brothers.
