Eveleigh Cogdill Rogers, 86, former resident of Plainview, passed away May 20, 2004, at Heritage Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lubbock. She was born in Hall County, Texas, on June 22, 1917. She married Fred Rogers in Hall County on Nov. 25, 1933. Fred preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 1962, in Plainview. A son, Ennis Rogers, also preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 2000. Surviving relatives are: one son, Emmett Rogers and wife Ruth of Lubbock; two daughters, Thathious Lambert and husband Donnie of Fort Worth and Laura Penry and husband Melvin of Dallas; three grandsons, Mike Lambert of Amarillo, Robert Lambert of Fort Worth and Larry Rogers of Lubbock; two granddaughters, Melissa Rogers of Plainview and Sara Penry of Mesquite; three step-grandchildren, Landy Perkins of Lubbock, Mitzi Rickhof of Fishers, Indiana, and Christy Foster of Lubbock; five great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Flois Brittain of Grants, N.M., Loreta Williams of Onalaska, Texas, and Flora Cogdill of Amarillo; nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends and relatives at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at Bartley Funeral Home, 1200 S. Interstate 27, Plainview. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at the Plainview Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
