Rogers, Francis Ben, Mrs. (Verna E.)

Funeral services for Verna Rogers, 94, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with Gene Polvado of Wharton and Wally Bullington of Abilene officiating.

Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rogers died at 9:55 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2001, in Hi-Plains Hospital in Hale Center.

She was born May 25, 1905 in Limestone County, Ala. She married Ben R. Rogers in 1938. He died in 1969.

They farmed northeast of Plainview for many years. In 1985, she moved to Lubbock and in March of this year, moved to Hi-Plains Nursing Home in Hale Center.

She was a member of Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ.

Survivors include a sister, Lucille Johnson of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; several nephews and nieces including Wally Bullington of Abilene, Joe Kidd of Lake McQueeny, Noble Kidd of Houston and Comer Kidd of Harlingen, Gloria Nunn of Friendswood, Lela Nedley of Harlingen and Rose O?Lane of Galeferry, Conn., and others in Tennessee.

Five brothers and three sisters are deceased.
