Obituary

PETERSBURG - Funeral Mass for Crecencia Rodriquez, 82, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Petersburg with the Rev. Timothy Judd, pastor, officiating. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in White Memorial Chapel in Lubbock. Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery by White Funeral Home of Lubbock. Mrs. Rodriquez died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2002, in Lubbock. She was born Sept. 14, 1920, in Highbank, the daughter of the late Andres Ursua and Maria Cruz. She moved from Rosebud to Petersburg in 1954. She was a homemaker and an active member of Guadalupanas and Cursillistas Society of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. On April 21, 1940, she married Nicholas Rodriquez in Rosebud. He died in July of 2000. Survivors include seven sons, Pedro, John and Jesse Rodriquez, all of Petersburg, Rufus Rodriquez of Lubbock, Raymond Rodriquez of Ralls and Simon and Kirk Rodriquez of Lubbock; five daughters, Lupe Martinez of Lubbock, Inez Hernandez and Carmel Moralez, both of Petersburg, Tommie Martinez of Sperry, Okla., and Janie Ledesma of Lubbock; two brothers, Celestino Ursua of Lubbock and Chano Ursua of Waco; one sister, Julia Chaves of Lubbock; 25 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
