Obituary

Funeral services for Solano "Benny" Rodriguez, 25, formerly of Plainview, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Plainview with the Rev. Arsenio Redulla, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Rodriguez died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at his residence. He was born July 19, 1982, in Plainview. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He loved the New York Giants. Survivors include his grandparents, Benny and Margie Perez and Jose and Ramona Moreno, all of Plainview; his mother, Lorene Perez of Lubbock; his father, Hector Salas of Plainview; four brothers and one sister-in-law, Reynaldo Jr. and Amelia Rodriguez, and Daniel Aguirre, all of Lubbock, Matthew Aguirre of Amarillo and Robert Salas of Plainview; five sisters, Lorie Rodriguez, Lisa Aguirre and Raquel Aguirre, all of Lubbock, and Roxanne Salas and Samantha Salas, both of Plainview; and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his grandmother, Maria Rodriguez Perez; and two uncles, Ramiro Perez and Bennie Perez. A special thanks to his aunt, Alma Perez Montoyo, and her family for being "mom" to Benny as he lived with her most of his life.
