Gabriel Rodriguez, 80, of Plainview passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Kornerstone Funeral Chapel with Oscar Chavez officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Rodriguez was born on April 8, 1934, to Guadalupe and Concepcion Rodriguez in Brownsville. He married Hortencia Covarrubias on Nov. 26, 1962, in Plainview. He is survived by his wife, Hortencia Rodriguez of Plainview; two daughters,Leticia Gaucin and Irma Garcia; three sons, Samuel Rodriguez, Gabriel Rodriguez Jr. and Gabriel Rodriguez Jr; five brothers, Pascual Rodriguez, Ernesto Rodriguez, Meliton Rodriguez, Francisco Rodriguez and Enrique Rodriguez; three sisters, Juanita Rodriguez, Genoveva Ramos and Concepcion Trevino; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; three daughters, Eliza Rodriguez, Nina Gloria and Beatriz Rodriguez; and one son, Daniel Rodriguez.
