Obituary

Services for Dorothy Robinson, 69, of Kress, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at United Baptist Church in Plainview with the Rev. Michael White officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Robinson died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, in Amarillo. She was born Oct. 9, 1939, in Groesbeck, Limestone County, Texas, to Garland and Nora Ray Sr. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Plainview and from South Plains College in Plainview. She married Ernest Robinson in 1959 in Clovis, N.M. He later died in 1995. She retired from the Heritage Nursing Home in Plainview where she worked for 28 years. She was a charter member of United Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Earnest Ray Robinson of Kress; two brothers, Sherman Ray of Amarillo and Bobby Ray of Plainview; one sister, Ruby Ray of Plainview; one aunt, Louise Ray of Plainview; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sons, Cecil Robinson, Mark Robinson and Ernest Robinson; one daughter, Latricia Robinson; three brothers, Willie Ray, Garland Ray Jr. and Jack Ray; and one sister, Narvella Sansom.
