Obituary

Funeral services for Margaret Robinson, 76, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Alice Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim McCartney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Robinson died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at Covenant Hospital Plainview. She was born Nov. 22, 1930, in Plainview. She grew up in Lubbock and attended schools there. She graduated from Lubbock High School and attended Texas Tech University. She worked as a service representative for Southwestern Bell Telephone for a total of 35 years. She was a member of St. Alice Catholic Church and was a Silver Haired Legislator. She also was a member of the American Contract Bridge League, Plainview Duplicate Bridge Club and the Delta Delphin Club of Plainview. She married Carlton Allyn Robinson Jr. on Sept. 11, 1954, in Lubbock. He died May 3, 2005. Survivors include two daughters and two sons-in-law, Diane and Ken Johnson of Kennesaw, Ga., and Carla and David Stanford of Carrollton; one son and daughter-in-law, Carlton Allyn and Sheila Robinson III of Holyoke, Okla; two sisters, Betty Smith of Sulphur Springs and Kay Yarbrough of Wanette, Okla.; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials to Plainview Senior Citizens, 1107 Smyth, Plainview, TX 79072, or a favorite charity.
