Obituary
Funeral Mass for Carlton Allyn Robinson Jr., 75, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Alice Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim McCartney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited from 7-8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Robinson died Tuesday, May 3, 2005, in Covenant Hospital Plainview. He was born March 28, 1930, in Paris, Texas. He spent his childhood mostly in Westfield, N.J., where he graduated high school. He attended North Texas Agriculture College for two years and joined the Marine Corps, serving two years active duty in Korea and six years in the Reserves. After his active military duty he attended Texas Tech and received a bachelor's degree in agriculture. He moved to Aiken and then Plainview and was employed as an agronomist for Anderson Clayton Co. until retiring in the late 1970s due to illness. On Sept. 11, 1954, he married Margaret Ann Bartlett in Lubbock. Survivors include his wife; one son and daughter-in-law, Allyn and Sheila Robinson of Holyoke, Colo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Ken Johnson of Kennesaw, Ga., and Carla and David Stanford of Carrollton; two brothers, Jim Robinson of Austin and Doug Robinson of Sun City, Calif.; three grandchildren, Sam Johnson, Jessica Stanford and Catherine Stanford; an aunt, Sister Claire Marion Barton of Bronx, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
