Graveside services for Gladys Marie Roberts, 97, of Plainview will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Plainview Memorial Park with J.W. Hamby officiating. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Roberts died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Prairie House Living Center. She was born Feb. 16, 1914, in Petty to Samuel Archie Flanagan and Essie McClure Flanagan. She graduated from Honey Grove High School. She married Samuel Roberts in Durant, Okla., on March 23, 1941. She worked as a beautician and as a school secretary at a Plainview elementary school. She obtained her LVN degree and worked at Plainview Hospital. She was a member of Garland Street Church of Christ. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Joe and Lynn Roberts of Tucson, Ariz., John Roberts of Plainview and Mike and Mary Ruth Roberts of Cloudcroft, N.M.; and two sisters, Virginia Flanagan and Billie Morgan, both of Dallas. Her parents; her husband; one brother; and three sisters are deceased.
