Petersburg ? Funeral services for Kenneth A. Roberson, 88, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Main Street Church of Christ with Owen Carr, minister, officiating.
Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.
Mr. Roberson died Thursday, May 4, 2000, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born Oct. 23, 1911, in Petersburg where he been a lifelong resident. He was a farmer and owned one of the first irrigation wells on the South Plains in 1940.
He had served on the board of directors at First State Bank in Petersburg School Board, Hale County Soil and Water Conservation Board and was a member Main Street Church of Christ, Petersburg Lions Club, Masonic Lodge and Shriners.
On July 28, 1934, he married Latane Hale in Roswell, N.M.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenneth A. Roberson Jr., of Austin; a daughter, Dolores R. Bennett of Summerville, S.C., and Lubbock; a sister, JoAnn Douglas of Lubbock; a sister, JoAnn Douglas of Lubbock; and six grandchildren.
The body will be at the church Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time.
