Connie Rivera, 66, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2011, in Plainview. Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Arsenio Redulla officiating. Burial was in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Connie was born Oct. 27, 1944, to Rafael and Candelaria Medina in Lockhart. She married Carlos Rivera Sr. on Jan. 27, 1963, in Plain?view. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rafael and Candelaria Medina; one son, David Rivera; and one sister, Elidia M. Rivera. She is survived by her husband, Carlos Rivera Sr. of Plainview; three daughters, Yolanda Rivera of Plainview, JoAnn Cheek and husband, Jimmy, of Abilene and Mary Landeros and husband, Mario, of Plainview; three sons, Roman Rivera and wife, Sonya, of Mansfield, Carlos Rivera Jr. of Plainview and Daniel Rivera of Lubbock; two brothers, Robert Medina of Plainview and Rafael Medina Jr. of Austin; seven sisters, Mary Pedrosa, Gloria Ferrer and Rosa Gallardo, all of Plainview, Anna Rivera of San Antonio, Vicky Robles of Borger, Maria Tovar of Oshkosh, Wis., and Juana Mendoza of Hereford; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
