Obituary

Funeral Mass for Janie Tonche Rivas, 55, will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Arsenio Redulla officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Rivas died Saturday, June, 14, 2008. She was born Jan. 30, 1952, in Crystal City to Manuel and Juanita Tonche. She was a nurse's aid at the Texas Migrant Council for many years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include one son, Aaron Rivas of Plainview; her mother, Juanita Tonche of Plainview; six brothers, Manuel Tonche Jr., Jesse Tonche, Mike Tonche, Guadalupe Tonche, Adan Tonche and Johnny Tonche, all of Plainview; and two sisters, Evagelina "Eva" Arriola and Elizabeth Gonzales, both of Plainview. Her father, Manuel Tonche Sr., and brother, Hector Tonche, are deceased.
