Obituary

Funeral Mass for Genoveva Moya Riojas, 87, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. John Ohlig, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Lemons Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Riojas died at 8:10 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2002, at her residence. She was born Jan. 3, 1915, in Crystal City where she grew up. She moved to Plainview in 1959 and was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. On March 17, 1942, she married Elias Riojas Sr., in Uvalde. He is deceased. Survivors include three daughters, Lucia Baldez and Paula Hernandez, both of Plainview, and Beatriz Martinez of Lubbock; three sons, Elias Riojas Jr., of Amarillo, Ricardo Riojas of Dimmitt and Cruz Riojas of Irving; 45 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and two grandchildren she raised, San Juana Figuaroa of Edinburg and John Riojas of Plainview; five great-grandchildren she raised, Eilseo Galvan of Roma, Domingo Faz III, Steve Faz, Vincent Faz and Priscilla Soto, all of Plainview. A brother, Manuel Moya, is deceased.
