Obituary

Graveside services for John A. Rinck, 81, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Plainview Memorial Park with Brian Jones, lay minister, officiating. Burial will be by Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Rinck died Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, in Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo. He was born July 6, 1924, in Ruleton, Kan., to Alvin and Katherine Rinck. He moved to Ozark, Mo., and then back to Kansas. He was owner of a trucking company in Iowa before moving to Plainview where he had a trucking company with Excel beefpackers the past 15 years. He was involved in land development in the area and was a member of the Elks Lodge. He married his wife, Ellen, on Feb. 4, 1956, in Omaha, Neb. She died May 8, 1993. Survivors include a daughter, Marsha Harmon of Plainview; a brother, James L. Rinck of Aurora, Colo.; three sisters, Lois Studer of Alamo, Vera French of Enid, Okla., and Alice Doyle of Plainview; two grandchildren, Zach Harmon and his wife Monica of Plainview and Rhiannon Castaneda and her husband Manuel of Olton; and three great-grandchildren, Korben Harmon and Kylee Harmon of Plainview and Orion Castaneda of Olton. His parents, wife and four brothers are deceased. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Meals on Wheels or a favorite charity.
