Lockney ? Funeral services for Willis Reynolds, 86, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Abney, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home.
Mr. Reynolds died Wednesday in Covenant Medical Center Lubbock.
He was born Feb. 20, 1912, in Tioga, the son of the late Jacob Howard and Daisy Scroggins Reynolds. He attended Tioga schools. He owned and operated the Tulia Herald until 1950, moved to Lockney and owned and operated the Lockney Beacon from 1950 to 1970. He owned Lockney Printing until retiring in 1997.
His printing shop operated the last fully hot-type printing company in the area and he was the area?s oldest active printer.
He was an active member of First Baptist Church and on Father?s Day in 1998 he was recognized as the oldest father present. He also was a charter director and member of the Lockney Senior Citizens Association a charter member of the Lions Club, past member of the Lockney Rotary Club, and a member of both the Panhandle Press Association and the Texas Press Association.
On Sept. 23, 1934, he married Bernice Jackson in Ralls. She died Jan. 25, 1996.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Beth Reynolds of Tulia; a daughter and son-in-law, Janie and Bo Baughman of Canyon; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A sister, Ruby Hungate, died in November 1995.
