Obituary

Funeral services for Ruben T. Reyes, 54, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerald Kenney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Reyes died at 1:05 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at his residence. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday in Lemons Memorial Chapel. He was born Nov. 26, 1946, in Runge. He grew up in Hollis, Okla., and moved to Plainview in 1970. He farmed for 10 years and then owned and operated Reyes Gin Repair Corp. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. On May 1, 1967, he married Janie Morales in Altus, Okla. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Charlene Hilerio, Mary Jane Diaz, Patricia Reyes and Judy Reyes, all of Plainview; three sons, Ruben Reyes Jr., and Ricky Reyes, both of Plainview, and Randy Reyes of Slaton; three brothers, Freddy Reyes, Manuel Reyes and Bobby Reyes, all of Hollis; five sisters, Criselda Reyes, Gloria Reyes, Mary Galvan, Olivia Cantu and Julie Reyes, all of Altus; and 13 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ruben Reyes Jr., Randy Reyes, Ricky Reyes, Freddy Reyes, Manuel Reyes and Bobby Reyes.
