Funeral Mass for Roy Resendez, 57, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Reynaldo Reyes, pastor, and the Rev. Jerry Kenney, of St. John Neumann in Lobbock, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mr. Resendez died at 5:37 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, in Covenant Hospital Plainview. He was born May 30, 1947, in Brady. He attended Abernathy schools and was a Vietnam veteran. He owned Tender Kut Meats for 26 years. He was on the water board at Seth Ward. On May 2, 1967, he married Vidala Pichardo in Abernathy. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Deborah Gomez of Lubbock; one son, Roland Resendez of Albuquerque, N.M.; three brothers, Jesse Resendez of Stratford, Albert Resendez of Plainview and Victor Resendez of Amarillo; three sisters, Tina Van Veen of Odessa, Delores Resendez of Lubbock and Sylvia Hurtado of Waco; and three grandchildren and another on the way. His parents are deceased.
