Obituary

Funeral Mass for Elpidio Renteria, 78, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Arsenio Rudello officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. A rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. today at Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Renteria died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, in Plainview. He was born March 4, 1929, in Donna, Texas, to Felipe and Micaela Renteria. He married Francis Rivera on Oct. 23, 1948, in Plainview. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and worked for High Plains Pavers. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Lee Roy and Damaris Renteria of Amarillo; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Albert Lucio of San Antonio and Irene and Virgil Vera of Plainview; one brother, Rey Renteria of Plainview; four sisters, Sofia Hernandez of Los Angeles, Margarita Reyna of Edinburg, Refugia Silva of Phoenix and Nena Chapa of Dallas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. His wife, three brothers and a sister are deceased
