Obituary

Funeral services for Letha June Reed, 83, of Amarillo, and formerly of Plainview, were at 10 a.m. today in First Christian Church with Dr. Max Browning, interim pastor, officiating. Burial was in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Reed died Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Craig Methodist Retirement Center in Amarillo. She was born June 18, 1922, in Iowa to Roy and Alma Gray. She owned and operated the Place Around the Corner store in Plainview for many years. She married Dr. William Reed on Feb. 23, 1969, in Plainview. Survivors include one daughter, Alma Joan Ward of Fritch; one son, Jack Broaddus of Dallas; two stepsons, the Rev. David Reed of Austin and Jim Reed of Mt. Pleasant; one stepdaughter, Debs English of Wharton; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband; brothers Bob Gray and Darwin Gray; sister Rowena Turner; and granddaughter Kyme Garrett are deceased.
