Obituary

AMARILLO - Guadalupe Recio, 89, passed away on Sunday July 25, 2010, in Amarillo. A funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Arsenio Redulla officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Guadalupe was born June 26, 1921, to Maria Cazares in Victoria, Texas. She married her late husband, Valentin Recio, on Aug. 31, 1942. She was a homemaker who loved to raise her family. She enjoyed making bracelets, necklaces, crocheting and gardening. She is survived by four sons, Alejandro, Alfonso, Valentin and Ismael Recio; six daughters, Esmeralda and Rejina Gonzalez, Rosa Linda Ramos, Ermalinda Reyes, Celia Recio, and Anita Moralez; 35 grandchildren; and 82 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Asension and Carlos Recio. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to BSA Hospice of Amarillo.
