Obituary

Funeral services for Garland Ray Jr., 71, of Amarillo, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Joe Horn, pastor of United Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mr. Ray died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at his home. He was born Nov. 15, 1933, in Groesbeck and graduated from Groesbeck High School in 1951. He moved to Plainview in 1952 and attended South Plains College. He moved to Amarillo in 1976 and was in the concrete construction business. He retired in 1995. Survivors include his wife, Rosetta, of Groesbeck; 11 daughters, Rosie Ray, Garland Ann Ray, Etta Ray, Ruby L. Ray, Anzetta Yvonne Ray and Virginia Ray, all of Groesbeck, Velma Ray of Dallas, Gayle Hines and Brenda Johnson of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Cheryl Johnson of Pearl, Miss.; two sons, Perry Ray of Groesbeck and Wayne Ray of Dallas; two brothers, Sherman Ray of Amarillo and Bobby Ray of Plainview; two sisters, Ruby Ray of Plainview and Dorothy Robinson of Kress; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren
