Funeral services for R.L. "Louie" Rawdon, 94, of Plainview will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ with Johnny McDonald, elder, officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Rawdon died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, in Waco. He was born July 12, 1915, in Madill, Okla., to Solomon Marvin and Sarah Jane Rawdon. He married Willie Alice Ritter on Jan. 15, 1926, in Waco. She died Jan. 3, 1992. He graduated from Floyd?ada High School in 1933. He built airplanes with North America in Dallas during WWII. He moved to Plainview in 1945 where he was a custom harvester for 44 years. He was a member of Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ since 1955. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Billie Lou and Jim Nelson of Houston, Joe Ann and Gerry Graham of Longview and Peggy and Justin Long of Waco; one daughter-in-law, Bobbie Rawdon of Plainview; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A son, Donald Marvin Rawdon, and three sisters, Burnice Rawdon, Myrtie Remaklus and Tommie Trinder, are deceased.
