Funeral services for Don Rawdon, 61, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Garland Street Church of Christ with Karl King, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Rawdon died at 3:24 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 1997, in Methodist Hospital Plainview.
He was born Nov. 16, 1936, in Floydada. He grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1955. He attended Texas Tech and joined the Army in 1958, serving in Germany. He was discharged in 1960 and re-enrolled in Tech.
In 1965 he moved to Dallas and attended Metropolitan Computer School, graduating in 1967. He worked for Sears in Dallas for one year and in 1969 began working with the Army Air Force Exchange. He moved back to Plainview in 1975 and did custom harvesting with his father until 1990. He also operated the Computer Technology Store until 1995 and worked with South Plains Health Provider as head of the computer department.
He was a member of Garland Street Church of Christ where he taught Bible classes for junior high students, and was chairman for his Sunday school class.
He married Bobbie Boyd on Feb. 20, 1958 in Lubbock.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Kari Rawdon of Arlington; three sisters, Mrs. Jim (Billie Lou) Nelson of Spring, Mrs. Gary (Jo Ann) Graham of Longview, and Mrs. Justin (Peggy) Long of Waco; and an aunt, Burnice Rawdon of Plainview.
