Obituary

Memorial services for Valarie Patricia "Patty" Ratliff, 66, of Plainview, will be at noon Monday at First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Joe P. Weldon of South Plains Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mrs. Ratliff died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at her residence. She was born Jan. 4, 1939, in Dallas where she grew up and graduated from W.H. Adamson High School. She moved to Olton in 1975 and drove a school bus for numerous years. She moved to Plainview in 1986 and worked for Vick's Cleaners for 25 years. She also was a rural route mail carrier for five years and worked in the nursery at Parkview Baptist Church. She was a member of Plainview Blue Eyes, Crime Stoppers, RSVP and Parkview Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Davis of Belton and Tonya Ratliff of Olton; one son, Tony Ratliff of Plainview; one brother, Edward Goebel of Spring; and six grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. today at the funeral home and suggests memorials to Area Community Hospice, 3109 Olton Rd., Suite C, Plainview, TX 79072 or to Susan G.
