Obituary

Graveside services for Keith Rankin, 82, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Plainview Cemetery with Anthony Dominguez of Garland Street Church of Christ officiating. Arrangements are by Wood Dunning Funeral Home. Mr. Rankin died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, at his residence. He was born June 20, 1926, in Paul's Valley, Okla., to Jack and Ophelia Rankin. He attended schools in Olton and Plainview. He married Louise Sammann on June 29, 1945, in Plainview. He was a farmer and cattleman and also drove a fuel truck for many years. He retired in 1990. Survivors include one brother, Don Rankin of Russellville, Ark.; two grandchildren, Lance and Amy Rankin of Weatherford and Cody and Martha Rankin of Hermleigh; two sisters-in-law, Eddie Sammann of Plainview and Bennie Rankin of Tyler; two great-grandchildren; and a niece. His wife; two sons, Larry Rankin and Gary Rankin; and a brother, Max Rankin, are deceased.
