Obituary

Vernon Orby Ramsower, 80, of Plainview, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2008, in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Kim Hays officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Ramsower was born April 11, 1928, in Cisco, Texas. He graduated from Plainview High School and married Peggy Joy Jordan in 1950 in Plainview. He served during the Korean Conflict and returned home as an electrician before beginning farming in 1954. He manufactured farm equipment and enjoyed inventing various machinery parts, including a water well pump jack. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jordan Ramsower; his parents, Orby and Ruby Ramsower; and a sister, Veta Garrett. Survivors include his two sons, Rod Ramsower of Lubbock and Brad Ramsower of Plainview; a brother and sister-in-law, Rex and Ethel Ramsower of Plainview; a sister, Fern Siefert of Fredericksburg, Texas; two grandchildren, Brent Ramsower of Plainview and Venessa Wood of Lubbock; and one great-granddaughter, Andy Wood of Lubbock.
