Obituary

Funeral services for Max Ramsey, 72, of Plainview were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Gene Arrington officiating. Mr. Ramsey died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, in Plainview. He was born Aug. 28, 1939, in Plainview to Frank and Imogene Ramsey. He grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School. He worked for Plainview Country Club and gave golf lessons. He moved to Houston and worked as the assistant golf pro at Sharpstown Country Club. He later worked for Dunkin Donuts and at a newspaper in Houston. He moved back to Plainview in the early 1990s. He started his own lawn care service and also was caregiver to his parents until their deaths. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Neal Burnett of Plainview; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Judy Ramsey of Houston; and 37 nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
