Obituary

Funeral services for Imogene Ramsey, 87, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Ramsey died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at her residence under hospice care. She was born May 27, 1919, in Denton to W.J. and Rosa Belle Rhodes. She married Frank Lee Ramsey on June 30, 1936, in Lubbock. He died July 13, 2006. She moved to Plainview in 1923 from Floydada. She was secretary for Faulkner Construction Co. in Plainview for three years, secretary at Plainview High School for 5 1/2 years, worked at Plainview Hospital for four years and worked for Dr. Landria Smith for five years. She was a member of the Women's Golf Association, Eastern Star and First Baptist Church where she taught Training Union for many years. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Max Ramsey of Plainview and Bill and Judy Ramsey of Houston; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Neal Burnett of Plainview; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church of Plainview, VistaCare Hospice or the Hale County American Cancer Society.
