Obituary

Funeral services for Hilaria Marquez Ramirez, 79, were at 2 p.m. today in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Arnold Bravo, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Petersburg Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Ramirez died at 3:20 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born June 15, 1925, in Rosebud. Survivors include one stepdaughter, Carmen Rodriguez of Petersburg; nine sons and daughters-in-law, Jesse P. Marquez, David Marquez, Benny Marquez, Jimmy Marquez and Cleto Marquez Jr., all of Petersburg, Willie Marquez of Waco and Juan Leija, Ruben Leija and Noel Leija, all of Wisconsin; one sister, Andrea Guadalcasar of Petersburg; 70 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren. Her first husband, Cleto Marquez Sr., died in 1967. Her second husband, Mike Ramirez, died in 1999. Also deceased are one daughter, Esmeralda Rodriguez; two brothers, Enrique Pequeno and Simon Pequeno; and one sister, Lucia Lopez.
