Obituary

Funeral Mass for David Ramirez, 69, of Plainview will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Arsenio Redulla officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home. A rosary service will be at 6 p.m. today at Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. Ramirez died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at his residence. He was born April 12, 1940, in San Angelo to David and Francis Ramirez. He married Floria Rodriguez on Jan. 26, 1963, in Plainview. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked as assistant manager for Kmart for many years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; two sons and daughters-in-law, David Ramirez III and Stella Cantu and Joe Albert and Sylvia Ramirez, all of Plainview; two daughters, Christine Ramirez of Amarillo and Rose Mary Ramirez of Abilene; two brothers, Bearl Ramirez and Nicholas Ramirez, both of Owatonna, Minn.; two sisters, Margaret Rodriguez of Cedar Park and Mary Talamantes of Albert Lee, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. His parents and a sister, Trine Rodriguez, are deceased. The family suggests memorials to Area Community Hospice, 3109 Olton Road, Plainview, TX 79072.
