Obituary

Jamey Qualls, 38, of Plainview, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Covenant Hospital in Plainview. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Seth Ward Baptist Church, with Pastor David Pollard officiating. Cremation service arrangements are under the care of Lemons Funeral Home. Family visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., today, Dec. 5, at the funeral home. Jamey Glenn Qualls was born on Nov. 20, 1974, in Amarillo to Paul and Raylene (DeBusk) Qualls. Jamey and Deborah Beavers were married on Jan. 28, 1995, in Plainview. Jamey worked in his father-in-law's business as a carburetor repairman and had previously worked for several years at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He was a computer enthusiast and was very adept at computer repair. His greatest joy came from serving the Lord through Seth Ward Baptist Church. He was very actively involved with the children's ministry, he ran the audio/visual system there, and maintained the vans for the van ministry for the children. Jamey was a very loving husband and father who loved spending time with his children, including playing games with them. Jamey was an extremely good man and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Jamey is survived by his loving wife of more than 17 years, Deborah Qualls of Plainview; sons Brandon Qualls and Trevor Qualls; brothers Paul Qualls and his wife Nannette of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Guy Qualls and his wife Peggy of Oswego, Ill.; one niece; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of the flowers, the family requests donations in Jamey's memory to the Children's Ministry of Seth Ward Baptist Church.
