Obituary

Funeral services for Raymond E. Purdy, 64, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Colonial Baptist Church with the Rev. Clay Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home. Mr. Purdy died Thursday, April 25, 2002, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock after a length illness. He was born Aug. 3, 1937, in Motley County. He moved to Plainview in 1965 from Hart and was owner and operator of R.E. Purdy Construction. He was member of Northside Baptist Church. On Dec. 7, 1957, he married Kay Harris in Tulia. Survivors include his wife; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and David Clark and Dee Dee and Mark Goza, all of Plainview, and Rhonda and Don Johnston of Lubbock; two sisters, Jean Reinhardt of Kress and Barbara Anderson of Tuler; five brothers, Ray Purdy of Sunray, Gerald Purdy of Fritch, Cleve Purdy of Kansas, Bud Purdy of Pampa and Tommy Purdy of Fritch; five grandchildren, David Clark and Shane Johnston of Lubbock and Shelby Clark, Jacob Kemmer and Madison Kemmer, all of Plainview; and a close friend, Doug Kemmer of Plainview.
