Obituary
Vernah Irene Bradley Pullen passed from this world into the arms of her Savior on Sept. 22, 2007. She was born on Feb. 4, 1920, in Kress, Texas. Her parents were Vernah G. English and Holmes C. Bradley. She was the sixth child of nine. She grew up in Lindsay, Okla., where she married Daryel A. Pullen on Nov. 18, 1939. After graduating from Wayland Baptist College she taught first grade at College Hill Elementary School for 26 years. In retirement she enjoyed playing bridge and being with friends and family. She lived in Plainview for 57 years and for the last 20 months with her daughter in San Antonio. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her five brothers, Vernon, Jack, Burse, Ernest and Jerry; and her older sister, Mildred Page. She is survived by her sisters, Nona Umberson (Dee), and Dorothy Kelly; her children, Sharyel Bradford of San Antonio, Texas, and Richard Pullen (Donnalene) of Florence, S.C.; her grandchildren, Greg Bradford (Lisa), Jason Bradford (Lynette), Brad Pullen (Jodi), John Pullen, Lee Pullen and John Van Pennington (Amy); 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at Wood Dunning Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at Plainview Memorial Park.
