Obituary

Funeral services for Mary Irene Pruitt, 87, of Tulia will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview with Bruce Baird of Central Church of Christ in Tulia officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Pruitt died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, in Weatherford. She was born Oct. 8, 1922, to Alfred Bryant and Lucy Mae Langford in Hedley, Texas. She was one of 12 children in her family. Mrs. Pruitt was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Kathryn Ann Akin in 1995; and a grandson, Jared Akin in 2009. Survivors include three daughters, Jolene Russell of Weatherford, Elaine Lindley of Salado and Barbara Nyback of Weatherford; one son, Joe Burnett Jr. of Tulia; one brother, Delbert Langford; five sisters, Bess Reed, Bonnie Kiefer, Jean Love, Dorothy Perdue and Erma Rexroad; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
