Obituary

HALE CENTER - Memorial services for Jesse D. Privett, 59, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Bartley-Silva Memorial Chapel with Bruce Cotton, chaplain with Lubbock Hospice, officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home. Mr. Privett died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2001, at his residence. He was born Aug. 22, 1942, in Henrietta, the son of the late Clarence and Lida Privett. He was a USDA meat inspector for 32 years with his last duty with Excel beefpackers in Plainview. He retired from the USDA on Jan. 31, 2001 and worked for R&M Meats in Lubbock as a regulatory coordinator. He was a member of American Federation of Government Employees, Local 2771, where he was a past vice president and treasurer. On Aug. 8, 1978, he married Gale Hawks in Lubbock. Survivors include his wife. The family suggests memorials to any hospice organization.
