Obituary

Graveside services for Genna Hackler Price, 82, of Plainview will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Bob DuPont, chaplain at VistaCare Hospice, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Price died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, in Lubbock. She was born Jan. 6, 1928, in Cloud Chief, Okla., to Troy Wallace and Della Bacon Hackler. In 1929 her family moved to Olton where she grew up and graduated from Olton High School. She attended Wayland Baptist University. She married Flake Price on Jan. 5, 1947, in Clovis, N.M. He died Jan. 11, 2004. They lived in Plainview from 1947-55 then moved to Olton. They returned to Plainview in 1966. She was a homemaker and worked as a secretary for Lilly Hoffman Cooling Towers. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Johnny Hughes of Canyon and Cathy and Eugene Terry of Forney; one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Riley True of Plainview; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Her husband; her parents; a brother, Leroy Hackler; and a sister, Mildred Walker, are deceased.
