Obituary

Debbie Poteet, 56, passed away peacefully at home Friday, March 30, 2012, surrounded by her friends and family after a valiant battle with cancer. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, April 3, 2012, at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed LeCompte officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Poteet was born Dec. 20, 1955, in Bryan, Texas, to Carl and Darlene Armstrong. She married Wayne Poteet on June 20, 1999, in Plainview. She worked as a secretary for IMS for the past 12 years. Debbie was lovingly known as "DiDi." She is survived by her husband, Wayne Poteet of Plainview; two daughters, Mary Ann Pinkerton and her husband, Heath, of Plainview and Lisa Williams and her husband, Mike, of Plainview; one son, Justin Ogden and his wife, Jessica, of Plainview; her parents, Carl and Darlene Armstrong of Olton; two brothers, Robert Armstrong and his wife, DeLinda, of Seminole and Rocky Armstrong and his wife, Crystal, of Amarillo; one sister, Shelly Whitfield of Tampa, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; stepchildren, Michelle Duboise and her husband, Quinn, of Waco and Michael Poteet of Plano; and her father-in-law, Curtis Poteet of Floydada.
