Obituary

Funeral services for Don A. Poston, 69, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kyle Brock officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Poston died Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at Covenant Hospital Plainview. He was born Dec. 13, 1937, in Hico. He married Nina Barbee on June 9, 1957 in Plainview. He was a deputy sheriff in Hale County for 25 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #709 and a member of the Cowboy Church Band and Grace United Methodist Church. He loved hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Nina; two sons, Cody Poston and wife Michelle of Idalou and Rex Poston and wife Donna of Lubbock; one daughter, Misti Johnson and husband Shane of Colorado City; one brother, Tony Poston of Fort Worth; three sisters, Carol Wilhite of Plainview, Betty Haley of Canyon and Rhonda Payne and husband Stan of Fort Worth; and four grandchildren.
