Obituary

Anita Tarin Porras, 64, of Edmonson, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Porras was born on Dec. 28, 1943, in Grand Falls, Texas. She married Herminio Porras Sr. on Oct. 31, 1960, in Plainview. He preceded her in death on Feb. 29, 2008. She was a long time resident of Edmonson and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview. Survivors include seven daughters: Beatrice Caldera of Lone Grove, Okla., Gloria Hernandez of Lubbock, Estella Alvarado of Tulia, Olga Loya of Tulia, Priscilla Sarabia of Lubbock, Isabell Porras of Plainview and Marisa Porras of Edmonson; two sons: Herminio Porras Jr. and Jose Porras both of Plainview; one brother: Leopoldo Tarin of Crane; four sisters: Manuela Maldonado of Plainview, Louisa Salgado of El Paso, Maria Garcia of Odessa and Elpidia Moya of Plainview; 28 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Rosary service will be held Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.
