Obituary

Funeral Mass for Herminio Porras, Sr. 71, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Plainview with the Rev. Heriberto Mercado officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Mr. Porras died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at his residence. He was born Oct. 10, 1936. He married Anita Tarin on Oct. 31, 1960, in Plainview. He was a farmer and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Anita Porras; seven daughters, Beatrice Caldera, Gloria Hernandez and Priscilla Sarabia, all of Lubbock Estella Alvarado and Olga Loya, both of Tulia, Isabell Porras of Plainview and Marisa Porras of Edmonson; two sons, Herminio Porras Jr. and Jose Porras, both of Plainview; three sisters, Francisca Porras of Oklahoma, Antonio Terrazas of Fort Stockton and Manuela Porras of Juarez, Mexico; 28 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
