Earven N. Polite Funeral services for Earven N. Polite, 86, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at United Baptist Church with the Rev. M.L. White officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Polite died Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, in Plainview. He was born Sept. 10, 1927, in Ashdown, Ark., to Hannie Willis and Arnega Nelson Polite. He served in the U.S. Army in 1946. He worked for Affiliated Foods until his retirement. He was a member of United Baptist Church, where he played the guitar. He is survived by his wife Willie Faye Polite of Plainview; five sons, Roy Polite of Amarillo, Edward Polite of Lubbock, Chris Polite of Amarillo, Anthony Polite of Lamesa and Earven Polite Jr. of Oklahoma City; seven daughters, Bertha Owens and husband Allison of Clarksville, Texas, Thelma Polite, Doris Jackson, Beverly Polite and Judy Polite, all of Amarillo, Evette Polite of Guthrie, Okla., and Virginia Hamilton of Amarillo; 37 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
