Hale Center ? Double funeral services for Esteban ?Steve? Plasencio, 67, and his granddaughter, Rebecca Plasencio, 14 will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hale Center High School Auditorium with Sergio Bernal, pastor of the Church of God of the Firstborn, officiating.
Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.
They both died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, from injuries suffered in a house fire at their residence.
Mr. Plasencio was born Dec. 2, 1931 in Eden. He moved to Hale Center in 1956 from Mesa, Ariz. He was a member of the Church of God of the Firstborn. On Feb. 16, 1949, he married Manuela Garcia in Paducah.
He was a retired farm laborer and had worked at custodian for the Hale Center ISD.
Miss Plasencio was born May 16, 1984. She was a freshman at Hale Center High School where she was a member of Future Homemakers of America. She also was a member of the /church of God of the Firstborn.
Survivors for Mr. Plasencio include his wife; four sons, David Plasencio of Hale Center, Joe Plasencio of Amarillo, Steve Plasencio of Plainview and Joel Plasencio of Littlefield; six daughters, Francis Garcia, Dina Plasencio, Rachel Viurquez and Elma Castillo, all of Hale Center, Naomi Magallan of Lubbock and Alice Garcia of Littlefield; four brothers Isabel Plasencio, Feb Plasencio Jr. Victor Plasencio and Ezequiel Plasencio; five sisters Kathrine Garcia, Felis Blanca, Belen Luna, Virginia Salazar and Maria Gonzales; 36 grandchildren; and 19 great-granchildren.
His pallbearers will be Johnny Moya, Joe Rubil, David Plasencio, Carlos Perez and Larry Perez.
Survivors for Miss Plasencio include her mother Dina Plasencio of Hale Center; and her grandmother Manuela Plasencio of Hale Center.
Her pallbearers will be Adrian Magallan, Roman Magallan Jr., Joe Plasencio Jr., Oscar Plasencio, Ernest Plasencio and Freddy Garcia.
