Obituary

Funeral services for Alex P. Plasencio, 58, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Church of God of the First Born in Hale Center with Rev. Paul Alvarado, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Hale Center Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home. Prayer services will be held from 6-8 tonight at Church of God of the First Born. The body will be at the church from 3 p.m. until service time tonight. Mr. Plasencio died Friday, July 15, 2005, in Covenant Medical Center Lubbock. He was born Jan. 30, 1947 to Isabel and Celia Plasencio in Eden. He married Connie Aguilar on Aug. 5, 2004, in Plainview. Mr. Plasencio grew up in Paducah, then moved to Hale Center and then to Plainview, where he worked for Farmers Co-op Compress. He was a member of the Church of God of the First Born. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Alex Plasencio Jr. and Randy Plasencio, both of Plainview, Carlos Plasencio of Amarillo, Jose Luis Plasencio and Augustine Plasencio, both of Lubbock; three daughters, Rosa Linda Vela of Plainview, Mary Ann Enriquez of Amarillo and Elizabeth Gil of Smyer; his father; seven brothers, Johnny Plasencio and Raymond Plasencio of Amarillo, Abraham Plasencio of North Carolina, Marcelino Plasencio of San Antonio, Adam Plasencio of Plainview, Rudy Plasencio of Dallas and Isabel Plasencio Jr. of Topeka, Kan.; four sisters, Eva Silva and Norma Baca of Hale Center, Louisa Plasencio and Olivia Mejia, both of Dallas; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. His mother; one daughter, Irma; and one brother, Chavelio Plasencio, are deceased.
