Synthia Pinkerton, 43, of Plainview, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, March 10, 2013. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2013, at Halfway Cemetery in Halfway, Texas. Earle McDonough will officiate, and Hospice Chaplain Oscar Chavez will assist him. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Synthia Joyce Pinkerton was born on Dec. 31, 1969, in Lockney, Texas, to John and Carmaleta Hooten. She grew up in Lockney and graduated from Lockney High School. She and Kit Pinkerton were married on Nov. 10, 1989, in Plainview. She enjoyed handcrafts, doing word puzzles, visiting flea markets, and her extensive Coca-Cola collection. She was a very loving wife and daughter. Synthia was the cashier at VVS Cantina for eight years. Synthia is survived by her husband, Kit, of the home; mother and father, John and Carmaleta Hooten, of Plainview; one brother, Shane, and one sister, Symantha, both of Plainview; and her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one younger brother. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Synthia Pinkerton Love Fund at the Centennial Bank of Plainview, or to the American Cancer Society , your local chapter.
