Funeral services for Jesse Pinkerton, 72, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. today at Northwest Church of Christ with Hugh Miller and Thomas Richburg officiating. Burial will follow in Halfway Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Pinkerton died Monday, May 3, 2010, in Lubbock. He was born May 9, 1937, in Turkey to Joe and Pearl Pinkerton. He grew up in Turkey, Junction, Anton and Plainview, and graduated from Plainview High School in 1955. He was a farmer, having farmed in the area for more than 50 years. He was a member of Northwest Church of Christ. He married LaRue Hayes on Dec. 22, 1956, in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; one daughter and son-in-law, Dianna and Van Miller of Plainview; three sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Cynthia Pinkerton of Harlingen and David and Rhonda Pinkerton and Callen and Emily Pinkerton, all of Plainview; one sister and brother-in-law, Eula and Davis Murr of Junction; 12 grandchildren, Nathan, Jessica, Zachary, Marka, JoMarie, Kelsey, Sawyer, Seth, Sadler, Callie, Deidra and Alec; and one great-grandchild, Harrison. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Pearl Pinkerton, and a brother, Elmer Pinkerton. Memorials may be sent to Northwest Church of Christ Building Fund or Church of Christ of India.
