Obituary
Bobbie Pierson, 85, of Petersburg, died on March 31, 2013, in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Petersburg with the Rev. Oliver and Paula Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Petersburg Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today, April 2, 2013, at the funeral home. Bobbie was born March 7, 1928, to Roosevelt and Okle Young in Osage County, Okla. She graduated from Spade High School in 1946 and attended Draughn's Business School. She rode a bicycle and delivered telegrams for Western Union. She married Virgal Irlo Pierson on Dec. 21, 1947, in Littlefield. She was previously a member of Southside Assembly of God and was currently a member of the First United Methodist Church of Petersburg. She is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Pierson; her daughter, Linda Sue Pierson; one brother, Marshall Young; one sister, Pauline Bridges; and two special friends, Dorthea Humphries and Lola Putnam. She is survived by three sons, Gerald Pierson and wife Wanell of Midland, Bob Pierson and wife Chris of Petersburg and Don Pierson and wife Nancy of Midland; three sisters, Mary Bretey, Ruth Mitchell, Rosie Hall and husband Gearld, and Christine Bridges; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
