Obituary

Rosary for Carlos Jerry Pierson, 52, of Lubbock will be 7 p.m. today at Calvillo Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Isidore Catholic Church with Father Jacob Puthuparambil officiating. Burial will be at Abernathy City Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home.

Carlos passed away Sunday.

He was born on December 11, 1956 in New Deal to the late Albert (1965) and Tillie(2008) Pierson. He moved to Lubbock on August 29, 1994 coming from Abernathy. He was a machine operator for BNSF Railroad and made many friends over the 33 years working for them. He loved listening to people sing karaoke, but our father's greatest treasure was helping people.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Christy Jane Pierson on October 10, 1978.

Survivors include three sons, Donnie Rene Pierson of Abernathy, Edward Mark and Charles Pierson both of Lubbock; a daughter, April Jessica Pierson of Lubbock; three brothers, Johnny Jewell of Denver, Colo., Robert Jewell of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Rene Martinez of Hale Center; two sisters, Mary Pierson and Yolanda Loya both of Lakewood, Colo.; and 12 grandchildren.
