Obituary
Lum G. PIERCE, 75, a resident of Plainview and Hale county for the past 45 years, died of a heart attack at 9:30 this morning. Pierce was stricken at a potato shed at 1401 N. Columbia St. He was not an employee of the firm but was helping out while visiting there. Death was instant. Funeral arrangements had not been completed early this afternoon. The Lemons Funeral Home has charge of the Arrangements. Pierce, a retired farmer and rancher, was born in Gainesville. He came to Hale county from Cook county. Survivors are his wife, five daughters; Mrs. Ed Studivant, Silver City, NM. , Mrs. Harry Huguley, Amarillo, TX, Mrs. Noyce Jennings, Lubbock, TX, Mrs. Stanley Sigman, Hereford, Tx and Mrs. Ira Kirkendoll, Coffeyville, KS; four sons Guy C, Pierce, Plainview, Clyde Pierce, Dallas, L.G. Pierce Jr., and Milton L. Pierce, both of Lubbock.
